Lone Cowgirl Company exists because agricultural operators deserve financial clarity — and that clarity is only possible from someone who has actually lived it.
I'm a cowgirl CPA who grew up in a rural town in Central Nevada. Agriculture has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — showing every type of livestock we owned and competing in every competition I could in 4-H and FFA. Yes, I loved doing my record books. 😉
After receiving my Honors Ag. Business and Equine Science Degrees from Colorado State University, I went on to work at Northwest Farm Credit Services as a Relationship Manager and Branch Manager for over five years. I was fortunate enough to work with operations of all sizes across more than 14 industries — from timber, row crops, and cattle to vineyards and aquaponics.
I moved from lending into tax practice, helping farmers, ranchers, and small businesses with their returns at one of the top CPA firms in Oregon while earning my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
I've also been a successful business owner myself — as an equine supplement distributor, the creator of a western apparel company, and a maker of both leather and silver work. I know what it feels like to run a business, not just account for one.
After five years in tax practice, I moved into government accounting and became the Finance Director for Crook County, where I also earned my MBA from the University of Nebraska. Despite Crook County being a wonderful rural community, I missed working directly with farmers, ranchers, and small businesses — and I realized there was still a deep need for accountants who truly understand agriculture. So I started my own firm.
Lone Cowgirl Company is a financial clarity platform for farmers and rural business owners who generate revenue but lack visibility into true profitability. We translate complex financial data into plain-English insights, and pair digital tools with expert advisory to bridge the gap between bookkeeping and strategy.
Most agricultural operators have an accountant who files their taxes. What they don't have is someone who explains what those numbers mean — which enterprise is dragging margins, whether the year's growth translated to actual profit, and what their lender sees when they open the file.
We exist to close that gap. Not with jargon, not with dashboards that require a finance degree to read, but with clear answers paired with the tools and expertise to act on them.
We speak cattle, row crops, timber, and aquaponics — not just debits and credits.
Every report and analysis written for operators, not for accountants reviewing each other's work.
Tax filing is table stakes. We help you understand what your numbers mean and what to do next.
